Can you explain a little more about what this extension does? It's rather easy to create a black or white background for an image already.
New version for Inkscape 1.x available!
This extension is a simple background creator. I use it anytime I want to export a drawing with an opaque background.
It replaces the following steps:
1. create a new layer
2. create a rectangle on the layer with the page's size
3. choose rectangle color
4. align the rectangle to the page
5. rename the layer to "Background"
6. lock the layer
