This extension will open up closed paths by removing all z-commands from the selected paths.
My purpose: to use single line svg-fonts as otf/ttf/opf fonts. These font formats require closed paths and will add a closing command to the glyphs. This closing can be removed by converting the text to paths, ungroup and then using this extension.
Hi Ellen!
It seems you only want to use the fonts in Inkscape, then. Would using the current Hershey text extension in conjunction with the SVG font editor dialog maybe be a simpler way?
The Hershey text is a super option, but if someone happen to have the temporary closed opf/otf/ttf fonts, but not the svg fonts - these will work with this extension. Also I find this solution easier with fx text along path option.
It's just another alternative.
Updated to remove the deprication warning in version 1.1
Hello.
This extension didn't run in Inkscape 1.2.
The path blinks when the extension is activated but nothing is done in the path.
A+
Guy W: On my computer it runs on 1.2 as expected (Windows). Did you convert the text to path and ungroup before applying the extension? Or are the paths you are trying to open having end nodes that overlap such that the opening of the paths have no visible effect?
