Zippity was a mix of realism and abstractionism.
I initially painted in gory detail a stamped metal zipper.
After a few weeks I realized it could be manipulated it into two sets one on top of another.
Finally, my mind saw the closed zipper as a guitar's fret board, and voila, we developed a realistic abstraction.
