Quickly resize (architectural) drawings by indicating a line and its length in real world units. Optionally scale the drawing with a specific scale factor and draw a scale rule.

Installation:
Copy the files realscale.py and realscale.inx into the directory indicated in Edit -> Preferences -> System: User extensions
Usage:
• Import an architectural drawing / floor plan / map /... into Inkscape or open a file containing one. Make sure it is a single object (group it, if necessary).
• Draw a straight line that connects two points in that drawing of which you know the distance in real life (for example, if you know how long a wall of your house in the drawing is, draw the line from one end of the wall to the other).
• Select the line, then add the drawin
To me, it would be nice to have an audiovisual tutorial of usage, or at least; visual.

A dificuldade é que não encontrei o diretório, assim como está indicado em Edit -> Preferences -> System: User extensions.
Deveria ser o diretório onde está instalado o Inkspace? O meu está em Arquivos de Programas. Seria ali?

Should I install it in the same paste where inkscape is? In this case it should be: Program Files. That's it?

Hi Ana Luisa, please use the indicated directory. On some operating systems, the directory may be hidden (please do a web search about how to display hidden directories), and you may need to create the subdirectory 'extensions' yourself.
The Extensions box in the "Edit -> Preferences -> System: User extensions" does not let me paste anything.

It's not meant for pasting, only for reading / copying / clicking on the 'Browse' icon.
Maren Hachmann, then perhaps some instructions could need amending so they don't confuse, because I have been very stuck and at this for hours and unable to completes this task (see it written above and in the download page for the Extension:

What do they mean by "copying" the files if it does not mean "copy and paste" into the above directory?

@michaelchudzik - I think what you need to do is learn about how to use files and folders on your computer. This is not something that is within the scope of the installation instructions of this extension. Please read the documentation for your file browser / operating system.
Does it also work for topographic maps?
It should work for any object in Inkscape, as long as it is a single object.
