A chance to ask questions and see how things are going between Inkscape and the Freedom Conservancy organisation.
advice regarding other projects making relationships with commercial partners
goal: build relationships with commercial products/ organizations, ie, books
could we have guidelines for what kinds of commercial linkings are good/ bad, what kind of financial recompensation should we hope for?
pushback from members of project who have adverse feelings to commercial entities
example: HelloTux, people offering paid video courses
related to trademark policy, Inkscape Partners program
chicken or egg, do we want to grow program from a specific project or come up with guidelines first
guidelines first is "more fair" in some sense, but more overhead
SFC is thinking about this and we're working with general counsel on what a potential contributor agreement could look like. medium term priority and a while out from an update
Jonathan: blanket ban doesn't make sense. with improvements to opting out of using copyrighted data it's getting better
context for the issue comes from general concerns and wanting to be sure we are aware of the issue as it grows in popularity wanting to make sure advice given is high quality

reminder, reimbursement requests need to be filed no later than 90 days after the event
Hopefully an update for next week. Jonathan and Pono are to meet to make sure the work on their seperate proposals involving funding are in sync.
# Vectors team are waiting to hear back about t-shirts from pono
pono will check internally if SFC has found another solution for tshirt manufacturers
