I am a 68 year old man. I am learning InkScape for several reasons. First and foremost, I am setting up a business in woodworking and laser engraving on wooden objects. The software I use for the laser is image based and so I need the ability to create text and image files quickly and easily. InkScape seems ideally suited for this purpose. I have attempted to learn how to create files for my purposes with other programs such as Adobe Photoshop and also Adobe Illustrator but the learning curve is a "bit to steep" for this old man to learn to be comfortable with. I have only been using InkScape for a couple days, but with the help of the online tutorials I have been able to manage the basics of the program. While I have not had the opportunity to interact with anyone in the community, I look forward to meeting some of you online.
