I added a rendering image for you Albert, because it was failing to load in Firefox.

Thank you for the assistance Sir, I'm currently using Vivaldi browser on Linux.

Hi Albert,

If the Deer was traced from a Reference image, we will need you to verify the CCbySA licence of the original image and post it here please.

Many Thanks
Tim.

Hi Tim, the deer silhouette was from an earlier work of mine in Corel Draw, I do remember I have a few of deer images found over the net as a reference. I modified the shape in my Inkscape drawing (not an exact copy from Corel Draw) would that be also allowed? As for the actual image, I do not think I could still find a link on the web. (or I could just re draw it to simplify things). Thanks!

Albert_Ocampo wrote :

Re uploaded svg. Deer silhouette replaced with a new drawing. Thanks!

I suggest you use an image which everyone can see. I can only see the bottom half of the....well, I'm not sure exactly what it is. But it's greenish yellow an resembles a curtain. Except for the inkscape logo and text, that's ALL I can see. (would show a screenshot except these comments don't allow it)

Albert_Ocampo wrote :

Hi, brynn. If you mean the Inkscape logo in a northern lights curtain wall, that is for effect only. I created it using extension>motion. I hope it is allowed coz I have the official logo shown (top left).

Hi Albert

The SVG is not displaying correctly, check out the "Hint" on the rules page;

"If your image contains elements that work in Inkscape, but are not rendered correctly in browsers (old Inkscape-specific flowed text, mesh gradients, some blend modes and filters), you can export your SVG image as PNG, and upload that, in addition to your original SVG, with the "Choose visible image" button. This will make it show up as intended on the contest page, while still allowing to access the original SVG file."

Albert_Ocampo wrote :

New upload per Sir Tim's instruction. Hope the svg works fine as I have re-edited the whole drawing in v0.92.4. It seems my AppImage was having conflicts with the installed v0.92.4.

Hi Albert,

I'm still concerned about the use of the Deer silhouette.
We have to be very careful about the misuse of copyright material. If you cannot supply a valid link to the original image with a CCbySA licence, we won't be able to enter this submission.

Perhaps find a free image to replace the one used?

Tim.

Thanks, Albert :-)

Oh very nice! I can see the whole thing now.

Is there a symbolism for the exaggerated antlers? Just curious. I've never seen a deer drawn like that before.

Albert_Ocampo wrote :

Hi brynn,
The concept is pure imagination, a fantasy, a surreality. A deer with extended leaf like antlers, a giant moth hovering from a distance. I simply associate it with Inkscape's 'draw freely'.

A beautiful image, perhaps a bit ghostly
