how to add on (generate palette ext) in windows
It does not matter if you are using the Portable Version for Windows or not.
Go go the directory where Inkscape is installed (normally is the one that contains the file "inkscape.exe").
Once you get there decompress this extension to the following path
%INKSCAPE_HOME%\share\extensions
The extension will show up on "Extensions > Palette > Generate...".
That's not a recommendable way to do it, Victor.
Any downloaded extensions should go into your user extensions directory, see Edit > Preferences > System: User extensions in Inkscape.
Hi Maren.
OMG! I have been doing this the wrong way for a long time then! lol
Thank you for showing me (and the original user on this thread) on what is the correct way to do it.
+1 for this!
why in the .config directory there is no inkscape directory
Thanks Olibia!
Very useful. I just used it to create a palette for all the Chartpak marker colors. Appreciate it.

I tried this extension, and it is greyed out?
What would be the cause of it?
Hi, I am a fan of this extension. Sadly it does not work in 1.0. It would be great if you can come up with a fix. Thanks.
Thanks for the update. The new version works fine on 1.0.
A brilliant extension. Only the version linked in the presentation is obsolete.
You can find the actual latest version (as of today), compatible with the actual latest version (as of today, which is 1.0.1) of inkscape here :
https://github.com/olibia/inkscape-generate-palette/releases/tag/v4.0
Isn't this the same as 'Save as : Gimp Palette file (.gpl)'?
that does nto have option to sort swaches
Thanks a lot. Works fine with 1.3
