Beyond the Basics microscopic handle nodes

Hi, hoping someone can assist. I've attached a screenshot to further illustrate my problem. I'd like to increase the size of the handles/nodes. I've gone through the preferences and managed to increase toolbar icon sizes but I can't locate the solution to this problem. These nodes are so small one can hardly tell when they change.

    Please help, Vegasnova

    Welcome to the forum!

Confusingly, that setting is in Preferences > Input/Output > Input Devices.

    Edit

However, re-reading your message, I see your screenshot has circled something that is not actually a node.  It's an arrow.

I don't think there is any way to change the size of those arrows.  Let me research for a minute or 2....

    Edit #2

No, the settings I showed you don't affect that arrow.  I dont' know any way to change that.  Maybe someone else will know something?

What screen resolution are you using?  Also, which version of Inkscape?

    Hi,
Real nodes can be made bigger in menu > file > preferences > input/ output > input devices > handle size.
I set thoze to 7, which is the maximum size. That is what Brynn also suggested.

The arrow/ handle on the screenprint however, can only look bigger through the display settings.
What system do you use, Windows or Linux?

*sigh* using ver 1.1, and the microscopic handles thingy has been bothering, no, enraging me since i have used inkscape off and on, weaning myself off of corel draw...

so, 'register' for my 10 millionth inertnet 'account' to specifically learn about this issue, find this post, and i rejoiceth...  until i follow the instructions, and there is no there, there anymore... following the path as described in the post above does not have a handle size option available... in fact, being a rainy day with not much better to do than beta test, i went through EVERY option in the Preferences dialog, and it is no where to be found...  *sigh*

mumble grumble grumble TRYING to use/like inkscape is like trying to love a bad, mangy dog someone gave you for free...  i spend a LOT of 'free' time TRYING to figure out the simplest of things in inkscape... mumble grumble

@art_guerrilla , that's a bummer. According to the release notes, handles are supposed to be better.

    High Resolution Screens

Inkscape now supports HiDPI (high resolution) screens natively. This means that icons and node handles will no longer be tiny on monitors with large pixel dimensions, and the canvas will no longer look blurry.

In 1.1, same as 1.0.1. In Preferences - Interface.

reply to aero- arghhhh- thanks very much, i did not look at the 'main' interface screen, just the sub-ones... now, is there a way to make the ridiculously small AND greyed out typeface samples in the pulldown be BIG and readable, and NOT GREY ? hhh (i am guessing nopey dopey) oh, and about the side docker not being able to change size...

FURTHER EDIT: I might add -as you SHOULD know- the 'official' documentation and help system is pretty much useless... aero's comment is fine, but that means he/she has to answer 5 billion times because the info is NOT anywhere to be found, INSTEAD of having a decent help/documentation system...  it ain't documented, it don't exist...

for example, this handles thing. first, WHY they are defaulting to an ABSOLUTELY UNUSEABLE size is bizarre, are you all blind ?  secondly, over time I diligently searched for HOURS trying to find out how to change the handle bs... it was only until i gave up and 'registered' for the forum that i could search and find a non-answer answer..

(WHY you have to 'register' for a stupid forum to read and find answers when you don't want to post, is beyond me.  WHY are you purposefully cutting off you own nose to spite your face? you don't WANT people to use the software ? stupid is as stupid does...)

if it wasn't for the fact that i only use simple tools for the most part, i would ditch inkscape and go back to corel draw or something else...  just waste FAR TOO MUCH TIME trying to figure out the weird crap the program does on the simplest of tasks, yet fails big time on SO MANY basic things I USE ALL THE TIME..   uh, like TEXT, yeah, who needs to have typefaces available in a graphics program...

too many coders adding useless 'cool' crap without the basic stuff working right...  doesn't look like that will change, don't want to waste any time finding out...
