Download and Test Inkscape 1.2 Beta

New discoveries await... by Chris Hildenbrand (CC-By-SA 4.0)

It has been almost a year since the last major Inkscape release, and the time is approaching to launch version 1.2! This “Beta” release comes with many performance tweaks, new features (such as the clipart importer) and user interface improvements (see the Release Notes for more details).

Before we share Inkscape 1.2 with the world, we need help testing the “Beta” version. If you are confident using Inkscape and you would like to support us in refining it, please follow the instructions below.

Here is how you can help:

  1. Download Inkscape 1.2 Beta.

  2. Install Inkscape and test it out.

  3. If you run into an issue:
    1. Find out if this is a known bug by searching on our Gitlab Issue Tracker.
    2. If no one else has reported the issue, go back and identify the steps that a developer could follow to repeat the problem, preferably starting with a blank file. Developers can only fix what they can see, so put on your detective hat if necessary.
    3. Create a new “Issue” on Gitlab (account required); or, if you aren't certain you have found a bug, get help by sharing the details of your problem with our contributors via chat (account required). Please be available to answer follow-up questions.

If you’d like to learn more about about reporting issues, you can read our bug reporting instructions. By taking the time to document your issue, you’re helping make Inkscape better and supporting us in resolving issues before the next major release.
