Fun With Spirograms

I've deleted my original 2nd submission, and replaced with this one (sorry for the extra work, Tim). This is the fun one, while the first was more serious.

Except for spirograms perhaps being seen as complex paths (relating to version 1.0 as the most complex version of Inkscape so far) there really is no story to go with this one. It's mostly just for fun....which is why I use Inkscape in the first place - as a hobby, for fun.

Fonts: Linux Libertine G and Euphoria Script

There's another version of this with a different color scheme that I've put in my personal gallery. (https://inkscape.org/~brynn/%E2%98%85fun-with-spirograms-rainbow-colors)

Hi brynn

Your SVG file contains a lot of extra stuff that is bloating the file size.
Could you remove the elements that are not needed for this entry please.

By the way, I actually like the more colourful version... ;-)

Like with my other submission, I left the extra stuff in there, because I find it interesting when I look at someone else's file, and I can see something about how they work, and learn more about Inkscape. So that's why I left some extra stuff in the file.

Does the size of the SVG file really matter? Isn't a raster version used in the program, if it were chosen?

Hi brynn

I have checked (with Maren) and it is indeed the SVG that is loaded as the Splash screen, so size does matter!

As mentioned in Rule No.4;
"It must load relatively fast since it will be rendered in real-time when someone views the about screen (the SVG's file size needs to be taken into consideration, too)."

I am happy to leave the design as it is, but if one of the designs were chosen, you would be required to remove the excess parts. ;-)

Tim.

Interesting.... So that sort of puts a limit on the kind of images which users might submit, I guess.

Well, the chance of one of mine even getting a vote is probably slim to none. But of course all the extra stuff could be removed, if that happened.
