I think Inkscape already has a QR code generating extension, which offers many different sizes. Hhm, yes, Extensions menu > Render > Bar Code > QR Code. Can you explain how is this one different?

The best place to install extensions is in the directory you can find at Inkscape Preferences > System > User Extensions. If you put it in Program Files, you'll have to reinstall the extension every time you upgrade to a new version of Inkscape.

Thanks for you contribution and good work!

As the description says, this is "QR Code generator for VCard (a format standard for electronic business cards." Check Wikipedia for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VCard

Hi, Brynn!
Of cource Inkscape already has a QR code generating extension, but if you need to generate VCARD QR Code,
you must generate standart QR code with text like this:

"BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
N:Gump;Forrest;;Mr.;
FN:Forrest Gump
ORG:Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
TITLE:Shrimp Man
TEL:(404) 555-1212
EMAIL:forrestgump@example.com
END:VCARD"

Then you use standart QR Code generating extension, you can't do this!

sorry,
WHEN you use standart QR Code generating extension, you can't do this!

thank you very much for this, seems to work like a charm
but on y own behalf it would become far more useful
if the extension supported a field for: web address / URL

as can be found in this online example:
https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/#vcard

It seems if the field for middlename is left empty, the scanned QR code result includes "middlename" rather than nothing.

Somehow this does not work with the current python version. I keep getting error messages. I could get rid of a few, the were concerning deprecated funktions. I am no coder and have little if none experience with python. I am running inkscape 1.0 on a PortableApps Installation. I get the same errors and warnings on a windows 10 64bit installation.
