Recently got a new Win 11 machine with inkscape 1.2.2. I'm having odd issues with fonts and the text tool - fonts not displaying properly.Β In the picture attached the first A is copied from another .svg inkscape file and displays fine, I can edit the text etc and all is OK. The second A is when I try to add new text using the text tool. The font is set to be the same - Tahoma 12 etc etc but as you can see it's a blobby mess. This happens with both existing .svg files and new .svg files. Any suggestions?
I am also having this problem. I have had Windows 11 for a few months and use it with a wide variety of other programs such as the MS Office 2010 suite, WordPerfect, et al with no problem, but, Β yes I understand Inkscape does vector drawing. I have installed Inkscape V1.3 initially (last July version). I then installed the later version 1.3.2 (November) on my Windows 10 computer. and do not have this problem. So I figured I needed to upgrade my Windows 11 with V1.3.2 - I uninstalled the July version and installed V1.3.2 on my Windows 11 platform. The problem is the same. Until this problem is resolved I will do my Inkscape work on my Windows 10 platform.

I'd check the stroke on the new text objects.

The issue is simply resolved by resetting the stroke.
After updating/rolling-back Inkscape versions, it is highly advised to reset the preferences.Β https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/
Thanks Tyler. Done!
