Thank you Thierry for this extension, it is very useful. I have a favor to ask, could you include a option to split the cone into a few pieces for the ones with small work area to be able to create a bigger cone please :).

I will try, but it will be difficult to attach all the pieces together.
A first (easy) solution is to cut into several pieces without any pattern to attach the pieces together. They will be fixed by the upper and lower "rings".
It should be better to design a specific pattern to link the pieces together but it should be very small and I think with this pattern the cone will not be really "round".
Any idea ?

You can do the first solution manually. The cone itself is an inkscape group. First use degroup, then select a part of the cone and move it elsewhere. You will have to close the path afterwards but it is easily done with inkscape.

I have been trying to manually cut the cone in equal parts but i cannot get the right angle or size. I wanted to split it into a few parts and finish the edges of the cone with a continuous line. I think applying glue to the sides of the cone while on a flat surface would be sufficient and would not affect the conical shape. Great idea with the ungroup function, i didn't think about this :).

I have made a new version of my inkscape extension. In this version, you can choose the number of parts for the cone, just as asked (I think...).
Unfortunately, I can't test this new version at this time (our laser cutter is down, and it is very difficult to get spare parts from China now, so I am not sure when it will be working again...
