I mainly use (Photoshop, formerly), Krita, and Blender in my work, only occasionally Illustrator if I ever need to do graphic design and text. Now the issue is I want to get off from Adobe services and look for an alternative which leads me to Inkscape.
However. As you can see. ALL my software zooms flow seamlessly with mouse or pen. Krita zoom in / zoom out doesn't snap, neither does Blender, and Illustrator has what they call "Animated Zoom".
Sorry if I sound picky but I Really cannot deal with snappy zoom. It just took me out, I'm sure I can get used to it eventually if I force myself but Huge emphasis on "Force myself".
I have a different modifier key set-up in Inkscape´s Preferences (Interface->Keyboard/Modifiers): scroll-wheel=zoom and shift+scroll-wheel to pan left+right or MMB-click+drag to move canvas.
Oh, Thanks! It really helped me a lot better at navigating the canvas, even though not what I'm looking for. Sometimes I also work with Pen and have no space for a mouse so it may slow my work down. (I move from 3D to texturing/drawing and graphic design in one sitting sometimes)
I see there may not be what I'm looking for just yet... If there is a way to, do you know where I can send feedback for new feature?
Having something akin to Animated Zoom would help me dive right into Inkscape a lot easier. All my software really makes mouse click+drag zoom method natural to me.
Hopefully it will be implemented eventually. If you want to encourage the developers to work on that specific issue, you can add a thumb up / a comment to the issue (you'll need to create a Gitlab account first).

No idea what "animated Zoom" or "snappy zoom" means. You can´t scroll-zoom in/out?
Essentially using mouse click+drag to zoom. Imagine panning, but it zoom in / zoom out.

Appreciate the help! ;)
There are already a few tickets opened on that topic, for example this one:
