Has anybody encountered problems during the installation of Inkscape on MacOS 12.2 Big Sur? I tried to install the latest version and version 1.1. Both installations failed with the error code "No activatable file system." (Print screen attached).
If you´re updating a former installation I recommend to use AppCleaner.app to get rid of Library content regarding Inkscape to get a clean install. With BigSur I´m no longer able to use more than 1 version like I did with HighSierra for instance - where I maintained 3 different version: current/latest beta/first native from 2015. Now I´m on the latest beta only.
Thanks a lot for your quick answer! I tried the link you posted, but I still encounter the same problem... Is there a problem with the download from my mac side? But it's strange because I've never had this problem before.
Never heard of this issue before. I´m quite clueless. Can you check Console.app at Diagnose/Mac-Analyze /system.log with search for any "Inkscape" entries? What are your steps for "installation"?
There is no entry in the log-file for Inkscape. I even checked the log-file now after I tried to install it again. The error doesn't lead to an entry there. But I observed many entries of Google Chrome and the xpc launch deamon as follows:
Google Chrome Helper[36668]: Libnotify: notify_register_coalesced_registration failed with code 9 on line 2835
com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.mdworker.shared.09000000-0400-0000-0000-000000000000[28314]): Service exited due to SIGKILL | sent by mds[95]
I was searching now for other log files. Unfortunately it's my working computer and I don't have the full access to all folders like "DiagnosticMessages" so I can't check this folder for errors of interest... But the files I could check, there is really no entry for "inkscape".
Don´t get me wrong - but what I really don´t understand is the use of GxxxgleChrome on macOS. I´ve never used any other browser than Safari - never ever had issues like I heard fora up+down with browser-extensions hindering to upload new avatar images and alike - really? And BigSur is really paranoid and when you say you don´t have full acces maybe that´s the culprit here - as Inkscape needs access to the hidden Library.
So error comes when opening the Inkscape.dmg download file before installing? Or do you try to open Inkscape directly from the dmg?

I deleted your screenshot because it contains your Serial-number.
I´m running devel1.2 on a M1 MacMini/BigSur11.5.2. Don´t know where you get 12.2 from.
It seems your downloaded dmg is corrupted. Get a fresh one from here please: https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1/

My steps are:
- Download the dmg-file
- Open the dmg-file from Download folder
- Error direct after opening the file.
