Hello, I have a simple square and a grey square behind it which acts as the shadow for the share. If I then export that image to an external file like a png image, the image is saved in the file, however it is not centered the way I want it to be. I would like the top square (Yellow color) to be centered in the very middle of the png file.

Instead, what appears to be happening is that the image is being centered according to the yellow square and the grey shadow image below the original yellow square  image.
So how can I do this in Inkscape? Thanks in advance for the help.

Attached is my sample image so that you can see what I am talking about.

I'd try this: add a rectangle centered on the yellow and large enough to include the shadow object. Then I have two choices:

    • Make the page the size of the new rectangle, hide the new rectangle and export the page as PNG.
    • Make the rectangle have no stroke or fill, and export the png using the "invisible rectangle" as the export selection.

Hi Tyler. I am exporting the image under the "Selection" tab, and then I select "Export Selected only" check box control, so I am not saving the whole page. Sorry I did not mention that in my original post. Also I just attached the image I was talking about.

Also attached is the screen shot of how I am saving just the image.

Hi Tyler, I will work with it, and see how it goes, thanks.
