@brynn, sent the reply by email but here are the email contents.

gspawn-win64-helper-console.exe is an .exe file in the Inkscape folder. Have you found it? I tried all three types of installation packages, but none worked. I also see that python2.7 is part of the package. Should I install this in Windows 10 as well? As mentioned before, I installed it in my laptop with Windows 10 Home v1909 and the same build number. All three packages worked.

Also, I am using Windows Defender as the antivirus and Simple DNSCrypt as the DNS server.

    I hope this helps.

Well no, I didn't even look for it, not knowing what it is, what it has to do with Inkscape, or why you wanted to open it.

Yes, I see it now.  But I still don't know why you might have clicked on it, or tried to open it.

When I open it, I get a small terminal window, which immediately crashes.  I have no idea what it is or what it's supposed to do.  However, Inkscape works perfectly for me.

No, you don't need to install Python separately.  Inkscape installs whatever it needs.

It seems like you might be wanting to discuss something with developers?

    Edit

You tried all 3 what packages?

@brynn, much appreciate you efforts but I don't think that you've read my posts. I tried all three installation packages and none work on my desktop. I can't figure out what's wrong and the Event viewer shows nothing. It might be best if I can report it to the developers and provide them with any additional info that may help. But again I repeat that all three types of installation packages work on my Windows 10 laptop. I tried all three.

Well your first message gave an error message for clicking on something that I've never heard of.  So first I had to figure out what relevance that has for this forum.  (Please understand that we often get irrelevant questions - someone's printer doesn't work, for example.)  Then I learn that it's part of Inkscape, so of course I wonder why you were clicking on it.

Then it turns out you're having trouble installing Inkscape.  By 3 packages, I guess you must mean MSI, EXE and 7Z ?  The 7Z package should work if nothing else does.  But I get the idea you know exactly how it should work.

What exactly do you mean by "none work"?  Do you mean there was an error message with installation?  Do you mean it installed but Inkscape won't open?  Or it opens but a tool doesn't work?  Or maybe something else?

If they apparently installed properly, but they don't seem to open, you might need to just wait.  For some reason which I don't understand, the first opening of Inkscape takes FOR-Ever!  Give it like 5 minutes.  Some people think it has something to do with fonts, so if you have a lot of fonts, maybe wait even longer.  But after the first start, it takes a more reasonable time.

If it still won't open, we have an FAQ for Inkscape not starting on Windows.  Maybe something there will help, if that's the problem?  https://inkscape.org/learn/faq/#inkscape-does-not-start

If you still want to talk to developers, this message tells how to contact them:  https://inkscape.org/forums/beyond/how-to-report-bugs-or-request-new-features/

"None work" means that after installation of each package, exe, msi, and the .7z version (which was the last of the attempts). There were no error messages nor event errors.

Used Revo uninstaler between the three packages to make sure that there are no leftovers, and rebooted each time, then using the Everything app, I checked for leftovers.

Repeated the error see enclosed screenshot. This was just a last attempt to see what works and what doesn't. But I don't believe it has anything to do with the Inkscape not loading.

Wait, are we working on the same problem in 2 different threads?  https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/inkcape-64bit-is-not-working-in-windows-10-version-1909/

Well now I see where that specific file came into the picture!

So this problem is officially over my head.  @Patrick Storz   who answered once in your other thread is a developer, and would probably be the best person to address this.  Hopefully this will call him over here.
