Hello, I'm using Inkscape 1.3.2,Β Win10 and I'm trying to create a vertical distribution between objects using the Align and Distribute options.
What I want is:
1- Define a distance that separates the text at the top from the text in the middle (black and blue in the image), in this case 10 px;
2- Using Align and Distribute, make the text at the bottom (red) stay at the same distance as the text in the middle (blue); that is, there should also be 10 px between these objects.
However, in every way I could try, the blue text always moves away from the black text, changing the initial distance of 10 px to create another spacing that evenly distributes the distance between these objects.
You see, I can manually position the text at the bottom 10 px from the text in the middle. But I would like to do this using the Align and Distribute features.
I have tried several times, varying the relative selection (First selected, last selected, etc.) but I can never get the first two objects fixed at a 10 px gap and move only the third text so that it is also 10 px away from the middle text.
How should I proceed to achieve this distribution?
Thank you.
PS;:Β I tried to post an image to make what I described easier, but I didn't know how to do it. I couldn't find the button to upload the image, sorry.π
Tyler Durden, thanks for the animation showing a way to obtain the desired distribution for this case.Β π

But, as I mentioned, I can do this distribution manually. Using a technique very similar to the one you demonstrated in the animation in your previous post.
The difference is that when I click on the black triangle (in the Snapping button column), the menu with the Alignment and Same Distances options does not appear.
In my version of Inkscape (1.3.2), the following options appear: Grids, Guides lines and Page borders.
However, the line that displays the same alignment distance still appears the same way for me. (vide image02)
The detail here is that I used 3 objects to make it easier to explain what I want to achieve, but in reality there would be more than 3 objects that should be arranged in an aligned distribution so that all the other objects maintain the same distance as that found between the first 2 objects.
That's why I was trying to figure out how to achieve this distribution using the Align and Distribute window, since it would be enough to select all the objects and with just one click get the desired result.
The align snapping button is in the toolbar higher up... the flyout menu is for items that are beyond the frame of the window.
Again, not what you specifically are seeking, but maybe helpful, is the remove overlaps button in the Alignment dialog.Β It moves everything, but it will space objectsΒ to a defined distance and a guide can be used to restore the original position. As titled, the button requires the objects be touching or overlapping.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but maybe this:

Tyler Durden, you've found an excellent alternative!Β ππ€
Even if the objects are not initially touching or overlapping, with just one more step:
After that, use the Remove overlaps button, and voilΓ !Β π
Thank you very much!Β π
