Using Inkscape with Cutters/Plotters Hairline stroke for laser cut

I have been using Inkscape successfully with a Universal VersaLaser where red hairline strokes denote a cut line (vector) and blue hairline an etch line (vector). Everything else comes through as black and is a raster engrave. I updated my version of Inkscape and now the laser software no longer recognises the hairline strokes and so everything becomes raster. Any thoughts on a solution? I have tried saving files as plain svg before printing with no luck. Files created in an earlier version of Inkscape that did work correctly will no longer work in the new version

Before proceeding further, I'd reset the preferences. https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/

Thanks for the suggestion, sorry for the slow response, I've been away from work.

No difference at all after resetting the preferences.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this one before I go ahead and log a bug report? I have students in my class lining up to get some cutting done.

Some lasers will engrave if there is any transparency in the object.

I'd ensure that there is 100% opacity at the stroke, object, group and layer.  At the stroke level in particular, ensure the hex code for the last two bits is FF. (e.g. ff0000ff) One hex digit off can appear as 100% in the slider.

Please share an example Inkscape SVG file that has the issue.

    Thanks Tyler,

The stroke was at 100% opacity, but that is a good tip to know!

In desperation I did another reinstall of the software, second time, and this time everything seems to be working fine. I can't explain that, but I don't need to, just relieved to be back in action.
