is there a way to get rid of the tons of gradients which I don't even know how were created? They look similar, the numbers are running from 33 up to 44953. It is insane...
And maybe because of those gradients he gradient tool is so slow, it takes time to make it active, then to pick the color and I have to pray that it won't crash Inkcsape.
The number in the # column of the gradient dialog shows how many objects are using the gradient - any with a value of 0 in there should get cleared out.

I included few screenshots of the endless list.
I hope there is a solution.
Thanks, Yanna

Hi Xav,
thanks, it worked!
And by any chance do you know wether it is possible to save the Fill and Stroke and Alignment windows for a new document as I placed them?
I saved it as a templet, but the windows are not saved within the templet.
Thanks.
Yana
Templates generally refer to documents, not the interface.
I'd try using the window settings in the Preferences.
Thank you! I'll try this.
Sorry for the late answer, but I didn't get an email notification of your comment.
And do you know how to move the snapping bar from the right side to the top (so it will be vertical)?
I have the newest 1.1 inkscape and in the earlier version it was on the top and I liked that.
I'd try Menu: View>Default
Thanks.
You pointed to the right direction!
The Default didn't work though, but the Custom did. When I clicked "Custom" the bar was right on top so I saved this layout as my default templet.
Now I'm happy :)
