I had a stroke path that I converted to an object. All the nodes are snapped together and I have changed the fill to a solid color, and now am trying to add filter effects to it. Very few of them seem to work. I can add filters to other objects like squares and circles--but these custom ones don't seem to accept them. I managed to get a blur effect in the attached photo but I can't seem to contain it within the object to my satisfaction. This is a lighthouse with supporting framework that I want to blend in the glass tower backdrop. Any tips on refining this?
Sorry for the delay - just found your file. When it´s just Gaussian Blur I´d apply via Fill+Stroke tab. The Filter settings needs a fraction (1/100) of that value:
Hi. This is for version .92

Check bottom left: "O"pacity is set to zero (0). Can you bring it back to 100 and see if this helps?
OMG: you´re still using XQuartz/Inkscape version. Why?
Hi. That didn't seem to change the radius of the filter around the object. Is there a better freeware version for MAC OS10.14?
Inkscape has always been free. Where did you get your version from?
https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1.2/
Can you please upload and Inkscape SVG example?
Thanks. I uploaded the .svg for my lighthouse. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Sam
