Add (colored and labelled) guides for margins, grids, diagonal guides, golden ratio and more. Find the latest version of the extension for download, examples and usage instructions at https://gitlab.com/Moini/inkscape-guide-tools This extension requires Inkscape 1.2 or higher and Python 3.
Boolean operations for multiple objects at once - difference, union, intersection, exclusion, division or cut. The extension is a rewrite of the Multi-Bool extension, and offers many adjustable settings and improvements. It takes a selection of one or more groups, or of several elements (paths, shapes, text), or a mix of both, and applies a chosen path operation with the top-most valid object in paint order and each other valid object which is part of the selection (directly or as member of a processed group) that is lower in Z-order. For more info, please refer to the README file at https://gitlab.com/moini_ink/inx-pathops/-/blob/master/README.md . Inkscape extension written by su-v and updated for Inkscape 1.0 – 1.4 by Maren Hachmann, licensed GPLv2 or higher.
Create simple, line-drawing animations for the web from selected paths. When you look at the file that you've applied the extension to using a web browser, it will look as if someone were drawing the paths with an invisible pen. Notes: * Find the extension as `Extensions > Animation > Line Animator` * **Only path objects** can be used for this. * **No path effects** should be applied to the paths (something may happen, but perhaps not what you expect). * The paths must have **a visible stroke** (else you won't see anything happen). * The object **lowest in stacking order** will be drawn **first**, then the one above it etc. * Animation speed can be changed by using the same animation name and selecting the same objects, then setting a different duration. * If you are animating a path consisting of **multiple subpaths**, all of them will start to be animated **at the same time**, but the shorter ones will finish first. * If you want to **change the direction** in which a path is drawn, change the path direction in Inkscape (`Path > Reverse`). Examples -------- See https://gitlab.com/Moini/ink_line_animator/-/blob/master/README.md Installation ------------ Drop the files `line-animator.py` and `line-animator.inx` into your user extensions directory. Learn where to find the directory in Inkscape: `Edit > Preferences > System > User extensions`. License ------- This software is licensed under the GPL v2.0 or higher. Note ---- Due to a bug in Inkscape (https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/9327), Inkscape 1.3 instantly crashes when you open the Selectors and CSS dialog. So don't do that!
Quickly resize (architectural) drawings by indicating a line and its length in real world units. Optionally scale the drawing with a specific scale factor and draw a scale rule. Version 1.2, Inkscape extension for Inkscape 1.2 and higher. Download most current version from here: https://gitlab.com/Moini/inkscape-realscale-extension/-/archive/master/inkscape-realscale-extension-master.zip Installation: Copy the files realscale.py and realscale.inx into the directory indicated in Edit -> Preferences -> System: User extensions Usage: • Import an architectural drawing / floor plan / map /... into Inkscape or open a file containing one. Make sure it is a single object (group it, if necessary). • Draw a straight line that connects two points in that drawing of which you know the distance in real life (for example, if you know how long a wall of your house in the drawing is, draw the line from one end of the wall to the other). • Select the line, then add the drawing to the selection. • Open the extension dialog: Extensions -> Scaling -> RealScale... • Enter the length of the line you just drew, as it is in the real world (for example, if your house wall is 10.5 m long, enter 10.50. • Select the unit you used (for your 10.50 m house, select m; for your 10 cm cardboard box, select cm) • If you intend to print the drawing, and the original object is bigger than the sheet, consider using a scale factor. • To do so, first select if you want to use a metric scale factor (based on mulitples of 5) or an imperial one (based on multiples of 2) or if you would like to enter your own scale factor. • Then, in the corresponding dropdown, or in the number entry field, select or enter the scale you would like to use. The dropdowns only offer scale factors for downscaling. In the 'Custom' field, however, you can also enter values smaller than 1 to upscale a drawing. • If you would like the scale rule to be drawn on the page, check the option 'Generate Scale Rule'. • Now choose the number of units the scale rule will comprise. Those will be doubled in the generated scale rule - e.g. it will show 10 cm to the left of the scale rule center (labelled 0) and 10 cm to its right. • Apply!
Extension based upon the eggbot_hatch extension from https://github.com/evil-mad/EggBot. Creates plottable hatches (simple, cross-hatch, in a single path or separate) in all closed objects in the drawing or in all selected objects. Improvements include: * Updated to work with Inkscape 1.2 and higher * Simplified a portion of the code * Added the option to choose units for the hatch distance and inset * Only depends on inkex now, which makes installation much easier License: GPLv2 or higher
Adaptation of Doctormo's US Letter Zine Template (here: https://inkscape.org/~doctormo/%E2%98%85us-letter-zine-template) This template provides an easy to use template for printing zines onto A4 sized paper. Export or print the "Print Page", then cut the marked line in the center and fold as shown in the fold instruction included.
As requested by Martin Owens here: http://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mailman/message/34734828/ Currently, either possible by multi-difference extension or by duplicating topmost object and repeating, which can be annoying... Combining can easily be chained afterwards or before, if you want a combination. As it's destructive, it would be nice to leave that out of the 'multi' process and let the user decide. Possible to do the same for the remaining two-paths-only operations.
Responses of Inkscape contributors to the question "What's your motivation for contributing to Inkscape?" Thank you to everyone who answered!
Automatically replace values (text, attribute values) in an SVG file and export to various file formats. This extension is useful e.g. for generating images for name badges and other similar items, or for rotating object colors in a semi-automated way. Data must be given as a CSV (comma separated values) file. The extension is compatible with Inkscape starting from version 1.2 and requires Python 3. Visit https://gitlab.com/Moini/nextgenerator for downloading the latest version, finding a set of examples, and some additional usage hints and to report bugs.

This Inkscape extension creates QR codes that contain your personal business card information in a standardized machine readable format (vCard 4.0), so you can quickly share your info by just letting another person scan your QR code with their mobile phone, e.g. when meeting people at a conference or business fair. It contains fields for both private and business information. All fields except for the name field are optional. Consider creating different codes for private and business events. The most up-to-date version can be found at https://gitlab.com/moini_ink/vcard-qr-code-creator Inspired by Sergey Vedernikov's vCard QR Code generator extension. Installation ============ Copy the files in the src/ directory into the user extensions directory (see 'Inkscape Preferences > System' for the exact location) and relaunch Inkscape. Usage ===== In Inkscape, you can find the extension in Extensions > Render > Barcode > vCard QR Code. The 'Full name' field is the only required field. Each field has an info text with an example which appears when you hover above it with the mouse cursor. Formatting is important! Email addresses, links to images / GPG keys and your birthday must be formatted correctly. The extension will automatically determine the correct QR code size. As QR codes have a limited size (less than 3000 characters), it may happen that the extension tells you that the text is too long. You can then reduce the error correction level to gain capacity and / or shorten/remove some of your data from the form. When you have entered all the information that you would like to appear in your vCard, click on 'Apply'. This will add a QR code to your document. Test the QR code with your phone's QR code scanner. Use: print it on your business card, share it on your website, copy it to your phone, … License ======= Main code: GPLv2 or higher Validation code for email addresses and urls: MIT

This is a set of cursors for Inkscape 1.1.x that do not feature the new shadows and appear a bit less bulky. In addition to removing the shadows, I've also made some other small tweaks, like decreasing the contour width and adding back some holes. You only need this for Inkscape 1.1, later versions will include an option to remove the shadow (in the preferences, but this will not reduce the bulkiness, of course). How to use: * Download the zip file * Unzip it with an unarchiver tool * Open Inkscape * Go to Edit > Preferences > User interface > Theme > Icons * Note the name of the currently selected icon set (e.g. 'hicolor') * Click on 'Browse' behind the line which lists the directory for the user defined icon sets * Create a folder with the name of the currently selected icon set (e.g. 'hicolor') * Move the folder 'cursors' from the downloaded archive into this new folder. * Switch to another tool in Inkscape to see whether it worked.

These are the community's suggestions for the questions asked during the Inkscape Office Hours on July 16th 2021. I've styled them to Markdown, and clarified them, added easy-to-grasp summaries, and cleaned typos and grammar. ----------------- Original text was: Welcome to the Inkscape Office Hours! The meeting will last for about one hour, starting on Jul 16, 2021, 5:00 PM UTC. Attendees: Moini, Adam, Lazur, Kirstie, ted, Mc, ollie, ryangorley, scislac The meeting log is available from https://inkscape.org/paste/28194/ 1. How would you define an Inkscape Contributor, in the sense that the person should have voting rights for the Inkscape Project Leadership Committee (aka Inkscape Board)? If possible, include something measureable in your suggestion. Your ideas here: 1. Example: Someone who regularly spent an average of 1 hour per week on work in an official team of the project for at least the last three months before a vote - The problem is the time spent is own meassured with this amount and probably we need a ticketing app to mark times spent on 2. Also we can use this each member can add another user in the project advertising who is on currrently 3. We should create categories/activities of contributions that count after that we can count contribution time, even self report with ability to question / ask for proof if anybody has suspicion they are lying. (comitting code, and comenting in gitlab issues is tracked ). categories: commenting code, comitting designs/ideas to the problems that sombody is working on, user suport (rocket chat, forum,fb), contributing to teams vector (text, ideas, organization, graphics), documentation, ... ( idea by Adam Belis) 4. also maybe requirement adding your self on a website as a part of some team https://inkscape.org/user/teams/ 5. Define "teams" organized by areas of expertise (ux, code, vectors, forum, etc) and leave to every team to decide what counts as a contribution Previous idea was to use peer-certification. If enough existing members say you're a contributor, then you're a contributor. This type of system would be easier to manage as code rather than a social convention however. Knowing the project leadership committee, knowing the infrastructure. Someone active on the forum may not know anything about whose are applying or whatever those roles are. Excluding people from voting who don't know what the voting is about. (Lazur) - why not educate and invite them instead if they're regular contributors (Moini)? 2. What kind of thing should the Inkscape project spend money on, to make good use of donations? Ideally, your idea should benefit the whole project, and not be 'just an Inkscape feature' that you personally need. Remember that we are a charity, so high standards apply to the use of the money. Also note down how you would be able to help with the item you are suggesting. Your ideas here: 1. Hire someone for a few hours per week to adminstrate the project's server infrastructure with updates, backups, emergency restoration preparation, and installation of requested software - I would help with defining what the job comprises (Moini) 2. A bigger then Inkscape community website/platform. Like Gimpscape in Indonesia is about other software too. Very inspirational. (Kirstie) – can you check whether one of those listed here is already what you mean? https://floss.social/@ademalsasa/106591072028243154 Thank you for the list! I meant a gallery-like- website with selected artists and works. With interactivity of LGM on a more frequent/permanent basis. 3. please take a bit of ammount and finish tweenk code of pathintersection and if remains code maybe can be extend to flatten pathvectors using fillrules. This improve all boolops LPE speedup, cleanerer and manteniable code. – I would fully support this but it might be difficult. Path operations aren't always as easy as one thinks they should be. Totaly agree is a complex thing but lot of work done jet 4. take account to check if is usable SK1 CMYK code (python based as all our file exports) to dont duple expent and hard work. – The developer team has already requested funding for CMYK, data is being gathered about the scope of work. 5. When you think about making tutorials/ materials.. It is helpful to have a broad survey on the forum. So many people can say what topics they want to have explained (Kirstie). 6. we can do (fixed time) regrankahunamote desktop help to users with a mix of user pay/donate, some time (initial) payed by inkscape found if no voluntier. We can have free prizes to students and teachers or fablabs 7. we can make a speedup video contest, with free share results the "n" beter art get a present. Each painter must provide a unique username where usualy share his works to avoid double presentation and allow him vote for "n" videos in the voting preriod. Voting period is open and moderated to avoid fake draws to get vote rights. 8. we can give a present to all people submit a piece to inkscape about screen 9. we can hire a artist with flosss high reputation to make a webcomic for selfexplain inkscape and launch it once a week 10. we can hire a front man like krita do with ramon miranda to make similar things for inkscape 11. we can create a bot to meassure user interactions in forums+giadmininstrationtlab+Rocketchat, facebook,instagram... with the finality to value the people add to the comunity, for example voting double on new users reply.... with this data we can give them gifts, money, dedicated work or just a BIG thanks. +1 on educating users -hire graphic designers to share an insight on the field. Inkscape is considered a hobbist's choice. While the tools are improving, the audience gains the mindset of "I can use the tools, why should I hire a graphic designer to do this small design task making a logo" -which is toxic for the project's reputation. Someone who breaks down what happens if you finish studies in a related university level; what difference education and experience makes and what directions to take if people are still into self improvement. (Lazur) 12 (MikeK & Adam) Have a list of tasks that project wants to commision: do Xyz, get paid $NNN. We can define what we want to be done (say, specific tasks for Gtk4 migration, or multipage support sub-tasks, or icon pack designs) and put a price on it. After task is delivered, we check if it meets acceptance criteria and check is sent to whoever fulfiled it. 3. Which other topic would you like to discuss with the wider community? How can you help the project move forwards? * Is there or could there be a kind of Long Term Support version of Inkscape? It would help with making documentation/ lessons. Also: for small companies and schools stability is very important (Kirstie) – this is more of a question for the development team, it would need some volunteer to backport fixes and make sure the old Inkscape still works on newer operating systems. As for the documentation, maybe it's best to work on that as a team? Sneaky thought: changes in Inkscape are also what keeps you in business if your book is a paid thing. I think this is bigger than development only. Inkscape is very driven by developers, but it would benefit from more user friendly features. This is one of them. I would like to discuss these features with the vectors team too. But to have a good stable version of Inkscape without bugs would take some 'boring' developer's work and could be something to spend money on too. * We can create in change.org, avazz.... campaings to increment the use of FLOSS in public orgs. * We must investigate about how affect inkscape globaly to cryproart, is there a way to allow get deeper into? Thanks everyone for joining us!

The linked script (see link at the right) allows you to automatically compile, install and update the Inkscape development version (or any other Inkscape branch) on your Ubuntu-based Linux system, in parallel to the stable Inkscape version that you are using for production (from ppa, official repositories of your distro, snap package or whatever). Tested on Linux Mint and Vanilla Ubuntu. Actually, the linked script is MIT licenced, but I cannot select that here. The symbol picture is public domain (I had to upload one to be able to sort this into a gallery of my choice).
