Built with the power of a team of volunteers, this free and open source vector editor represents the work of many hearts and hands from around the world, ensuring that Inkscape remains available free for everyone to download and enjoy.

Inkscape 0.92.5 released and Testers needed for Inkscape 1.0 Release Candidate

Inkscape is launching a double release / pre-release, giving you both a stable and improved version of the 0.92.x series to work with, and a Release Candidate for the much-awaited Inkscape 1.0 to explore and to help us fix issues that you find by reporting them to the project's developers.

Once more, Inkscape has been approved to accept students to work on the project through Google Summer of Code (GSOC) 2020. We are excited about offering students a chance to work with mentors on this open source (OS) project.

When the Inkscape community seeks Google Summer of Code (GSoC) applicants, we're hoping to find people who are curious about the project and the software. Part of the application process requires applicants to complete sample work on the project to demonstrate their skills and understanding.

At the beginning of 2019, Valentin joined the community, tackled several tasks and shared the outline of a project he wanted to work on as a GSoC student.

Community Chooses Top 5 Finalists in version 1.0 About Screen Contest

The Inkscape Community has spoken! The Top 5 Finalists of the version 1.0 About Screen Contest have been chosen by 598 community voters.

These five finalists will now go on to the next round of voting by the project's contributors who will choose the final design. The winner will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the contributors' voting, which ends on December 15.

macOS 10.15 Catalina Support

If you've updated your Mac to 10.15 Catalina, the Inkscape 1.0 beta preview version is available to run on your computer. You can download it from the Download page for the development versions.

Inkscape 1.0 beta1 available for testing

The Inkscape project has released a beta version of the upcoming and much-awaited Inkscape 1.0 on September 17th!

After releasing two less visible alpha versions this year, in mid-January and mid-June, Inkscape is now ready for extensive testing and subsequent bug-fixing.
