Inkscape is a tool of creative discovery. Maps and islands have been the real world equivalent of new discoveries - so the 1.2 island appeared with endless ideas hovering around it.
My entry is all about the fun I have when working with Inkscape. It's an awesome tool and makes the creation of vector art a joy. I tried to get that vibe across as well as use some of the great features of the tool to showcase the abilities in a 'not quite like any other tool' way. Enjoy!
Sun Wave Rising is my abstract interpretation of Inkscape's growth. My goal for this design was to create something simple using beginner techniques that new users can learn easily. Full step-by-step tutorial, highlighting the Inkscape features used and showing my workflow coming tomorrow on the IronEcho Design YT channel. This image has the 4 newest features that appeared in Inkscape 1.2. Can be seen on the top plate of the UFO plane From the left there is a Refactored Color Palette, Multiple Page Documents, New Snapping Guides, and Re-imagined Gradient Panel features. The position of the UFO plane, which is slightly tilted to the right, symbolizes dynamics, meaning that Inkscape will always advance and keep up with the times. Why did I choose the UFO plane? because it is mysterious but always a hot topic. Like Inkscape, which seems not widely known, but always brings good features that can compete with other well-known software. Hi, I made this entry for the About Screen Contest for Inkscape 1.2. I am a teen who has gained an interest in vectors starting with Adobe Illustrator. I was shown to Illustrator by my visual design teacher and I have been in love with vector graphic editors ever since. A few months later I looked into Inkscape because I know I can't pay for Illustrator. And I was amazed at how well features were implemented. So, I wish more great features will get implemented as well as all the contributors to have good luck and a bunch of fun (and more work done on this). (also the Bot's name is a WIP but for now, I call him Draw bot or Drawbe)
