Can you tell me what the status bar says at the bottom of the Inkscape window when the "70" is selected? I guess it says "Text". So why would one autotrace a text object?
Then please use a raster graphic like PNG or JPG for auto trace - or when it´s all about the "70" convert the Text object with Path->Object to Path - then ungroup - then Path->Combine - save as SVG and import into Blender - extrude - mostly done.
BTW: you can add a Text object inside Blender - no need to import a text spline as SVG.
OMG - as I said: it´s a text-object - no need to autotrace and it won´t work with text BTW. it´s called "Trace Bitmap" and Text is no Bitmap. I already told you how to convert Text with Path->Object to Path - ungroup - Path->Combine. I'm sorry, but we're going in circles. Doesn't make sense any more. Bye.
I would like to create a 3d object from a 2d image. Trace Bitmap does not work.

Thank you.
Can you please upload your file/image/whatever into the forum?

I don´t have access to your gxxxxgledrive.
How about now? --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1u1dpdlEyLIQafhX4KwJS3ZgVUvpQrStB/view
Hit "Update" and when you like what you see: Apply. The vector drawing appears directly upon your image. Don´t have a font like this onboard?
Nothing happened... I even changed the font.
The attached file contains a traced vector graphic after your posted screenshot.
Did you ever used Inkscape before?
Yes, I did. I used previous version of Inkscape. With this one there is no preview. When I import the file to Blender there was nothing there...
Still waiting...
Still waiting ... for what?

I would like to import an .svg file to Blender, similar to this.

Thank you. Yes, it works for a text but what if I need a complex image to convert like this? I converted this image into 3d with inkscape.
Thank you.
So file closed I hope.
Sorry, I have not gotten an answer. I provided an example which I converted from 2d to 3d using previous version of Inkscape.
My question - Is possible to convert using 1.1?
Yes:
This is so strange... Everything the same but my does not work.
Hopefully I'll figure out.
Thank you.
Are you sure you have an bitmap selected? Check status bar.
Here is the link to the screenshot.

I am sorry. I was confused (text and bitmap)
Thank you for your patience.🙂
