Beginners' Questions Problem after creating Trace Bitmap

Once I trace a bitmap and properly select the new image with all the nodes showing, is there anyway to separate (ungroup?) different components of the image or will it just treat the new trace as 1 object.  Like in this image, can I separate the leaves and make then separate objects, or just select the nodes of the flame pot in the center to resize it?

For this image I suggest you use [Detection mode: Centerline tracing].

As you've seen, the vectorised output is a single path with many subpaths. [Path > Break Apart] or [shift+ctrl+k] will convert the subpaths to individual shapes. Select the shapes you want to edit and [Path > Combine] or [ctrl+k] to make a single shape.

While Centerline Tracing works pretty decent it has no clue about what a leave shape is. This is 92 strokes and by the random color you´ll get the idea what to expect:

After creating Trace Bitmap, I tryed to save the file as SVG format.

Instead of SVG file, the aplication saved the file as Microsoft edge HTML file.

Can somone help me to fine whats I did worong?

    Thanks

    [File > Save As...]
In the lower right corner choose [Inkscape SVG (*.svg)]
In the lower left [Append filename extension automatically: Yes]
    [Save]
