Good morning, 

I have a Flag path that I have set a "Scratch" Mask over so it looks distressed. I'm trying to use the mask multiple times so it is more distressed, but the mask overwrites the last mask that I set. So in other words, I can only Mask the path once. 

How do I set the mask permanently, so I can set the mask again and again? See the image for reference 

I'd probably use a conventional mask operation , group that masked object, then mask that group again with the image in a different position.
