    Hi there!

I am new to inkscape and trying to watch and read as many tutorials as I can/ I have attempted to find the question to my answer but I am stuck.

I have an image that I am wanting to curve into an arch at the base. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have attached the image. The top portion of the image has been cropped out. Some I am just wanting the get the florals to curve into an existing arch on my document.

Is it just for visual purpose or do you need any vector data cropped? In the first case you can draw a shape over the image select both and go Object->Clip->Set Clip. In the other case you can try Path->Intersection.

Sorry, again...I'm very new particularly to using vectors.

Here is a terrible screenshot. I'm trying to get those wildflowers to rest inside the bottom curve of the other image. Essentially bend that image into the curve. Does that make sense? Ugh...so much to learn here! :))

Hopefully not bending but kind of masking. Is the oval shape a vector shape? If not you're next task is to draw such shape; you can Path->Union a half circle and a rectangle large enough and over the flowery image. Then select both and go Object->Clip->Set clip.

I did it!!! Oh my gosh - thank you!!!  Now, last question. Do I need to make sure that those wildflowers have a transparent background if I were wanting to make this a logo? The oval and text was were saved as a svg image from canva if that helps at all. Do I need to recreate the oval and text in Inkscape. I'd rather not but I understand this may not work correctly. You have really helped me today - so thankful!

That´s up to you. I imaging setting transparency will work easily when it´s a vector graphic. If i´ts a jpg it won´t work because it don´t support transparency like PNG files do. But Inkscape has a filter called "Light Eraser" which probably work - not sure about the compatibility with other apps. The foreign SVGs should work in Inkscape.
