I've run into something that I can not figure out. I'm trying to bend a path but keep the image looking proportionally correct. I just can't figure it out.
I traced a piston and rod from an image, and I'm trying to bend the connecting rod about 45 degrees to the right, like its bent or about to break.
I added a path line on the canvas to show you the general angle I'd like to bend the path (rod)
Can you please explain the process because I'll be using it in the future. Thanks!
Hi. Since Inkscspe is an SVG Creation and editing software, you will need to create an svg to utilize its tools. If this a raster (bitmap,) image, you will first need to create a svg file. This can possibly be done by using the Trace Bitmap option within Inksape. This depends on how exact or detailed you want your svg to be.
That said, I would recommend using the Scatter Extension within Inkscape. I posted earlier today a quick screenshot showing how to do that in the topic below. See my last entry that shows using that extension.
If you want just to rotate the entire svg or any part of the svg, click on the desired path(s) and open the Transform Panel, then the Rotate Tab. Enter your needed angle(s), and apply the needed angle.
You can also group paths together and use the aforementioned Scatter Extension to place them on a desired path.
