I have created a gingham pattern, however don't want the lines to be straight, I wanted them to be a bit more natural looking so it looks like gingham material. I have attached a PDF showing the effect I am looking for. I think this PDF may also have a slight texture applied to it?

I have also attached my SVG. I just used the gingham pattern setting however as you can see the squares are all perfect lines, not like they are hand drawn to have that 'gingham material' effect. Appreciate any advice on how I can achieve this effect :)

Perhaps like so: draw straight lines with 2 nodes for start and end point - then add nodes with "Insert nodes into selected segments" a few times - multiply lines to your liking - then Path->Combine - duplicate and rotate 90° - call Extensions->Modify Path->Jitter Nodes…or Fractalize… till you´re satisfied. Add a rectangle as a background with color and filter=Organic if you like; Adjust colors for Strokes and have a good play with Blend modes:

Hi @polygon, thanks so much. That looks amazing! You are very talented :) I look forward to trying your steps. A bit of a learning curve ahead however if I can achieve what you have shown here I will be very pleased indeed!
