I want to set the dimensions of an object by typing in the length/width.  Is this possible at all, are there extensions for this?  Also it would be nice to set guides this way.

I realize this is more of a CAD thing, but the mouse is too imprecise for me.

The select-tool controls have numeric entry, as does the Transforms dialog.

The guides can be set numerically by double-clicking on each guide.

When the Select tool [s] is active, the toolbar shows the width [W: XX] and height [H: XX] of the current selection. You can enter numerical values here to adjust the dimensions. The padlock icon locks and unlocks the aspect ratio.
