Is there a way to fix this? When I try to open up Inkscape, it takes a long time to load (Up to 1 minute) instead of instant. Is there a way to fix this, to where it loads up fast?
I would check the setting in Preferences>Interface>Maximum # of documents in Open Recent list, change the number to ten or less and then clear the list. Relaunch Inkscape to test loading speed.

I didn't know that Tyler - Thanks
In using Windud 11, I would also disable "Save and restore dialog's status"
I would also disable the following becuase it is torture:
If you upgraded to 1.4.2 - did you reset your preferences?
Cool thanks 😎
Please chime back and let us know how it goes.
Hi, apparently It still loads up very slow. I tried all the troubleshoots & it still loads up really slow.
I sort of have an old notebook with these specs:
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1155G7 @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 24H2
Inkscape loads in about 5-7 seconds. A large 9Mbyte document loads in about 10-11 seconds.
I don't have any extensions installed
I'd now try resetting the preferences. https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/
Cool Thanks. 😎 For now, I have to reset it after every use, or just keep it open throughout the day.
Curious - how many fonts do you have installed?
Came across this at Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Inkscape/comments/1kvp9hy/fonts/
I have 255 fonts preinstalled in windows 11.
I have 314 installed. No issue. 🤔
185 here
User installed extensions?
I have only 178 extensions "Of which all were preinstalled when I installed Inkscape".
Preferences set to default, normal amount of fonts and zero user installed extensions - I suggest reporting as a bug.
