I can't remember if these problems started before or after I opened a 3rd-party SVG file where the objects kept malfunctioning, but I'm noticing now that even some objects I've created with Inkscape malfunction when I try to move them, like they deform into something unrecognizable.
Ungrouping a 3rd party SVG broke it into a bizarre abstract image. And copying and pasting an object pastes the deformed style of the shape, or it pastes an empty selection shape that's like 1 pixel wide, or a long thin rectangle.
Also, when I move some items, they try to snap to random, unknown spots, even when Snapping is turned off.
I tried installing Inkscape 0.92 to see if it was a 1.0 issue, but I had all the same issues, and also somehow I now had 2 installations of Inkscape in Add/Remove, so I uninstalled both and reinstalled 1.0.2. I still have these problems, which make Inkscape unusable. Is there a broken settings file that I need to reset?
Thank you for your help @TylerDurden🙂 It took me so long to finally have time to do this, that there was even a new version of Inkscape when I finally reinstalled. Reinstalling seems to have solved this issue.
It appears that it mayyy have had something to do with my SVG output settings? – where I had reduced numeric precision integers for exporting vector icons to use in android studio. Allegedly reducing precision is supposed to make my images load faster in an app.
After everything was working fine again, I noticed something similar happening shortly after I changed those numbers again, and I haven't seen it since I switched it back to the default number. I wasn't aware that this number should affect things in regular editing, though. I'd appreciate any leads on this, because I'm switching it back to the regular precision after every export, just in case it was related. 😬 I don't want to break anything again.
I'm wondering if I have broken Inscape.

I'd uninstall inkscape and delete the user profile Inkscape directory(..username/Appdata/roaming/Inkscape. Then try reinstalling.
