    I did View > Swatches but I don't know how to add colors.

    Swatches are added using the Fill/Stroke dialog.ย http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Attributes-Fill-Stroke.html#Attributes-CustomSwatches
