I downloaded inkscape in 2019 and I never updated it. Today I got a reset on my pc and I downloaded the newest Inkscape version. Some things are similar but it overall looks very different. First of all, why is everything bigger? The layers window, the tools, the color windows it's all bigger and it blocks part of it so I need some more time to get to the things I need. Also, the smoothness settings gets reset everytime, I use the free-drawing tool thing (P). Could someone help me?
Not sure if this will help - but at Preferences->Interface->Themeing you can adjust to a certain level the Toolbox icon/Control bar icon sizes etc (requires restart).
It helped! Tho the layers window is still pretty big compared to earlier versions. Also, is there a way to set a default setting for line smoothness and thickness? I draw with the free drawing tool and I don't see it on the preferences. I just see the caligraphy one and bezier tool.

Make a doubleclick on the tool to adjust its settings.
Oh, that's very useful. Thanks!
