Hi team! Learning about Inkscape! I have created a design oultline in word then converted to a svg in canva. When I import this to Inkscape the outline is not as crisp and accurate as I would like. I have tried the trace but it does not seem to recognise the outline. Any tips here how can I convert my line drawing which is relatively accurate to a perfect outline? How would you go about this? Thanks!
Are you sure it´s already a vector drawing or just a bitmap in a SVG container? Select and check either Object->Layers and Objects or the Status Bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window

The tutorials in Inkscape's Help menu are fast and easy. They will quickly get a new user up and running.
Making the design In Inkscape is quite straightforward.
Thanks @TylerDurden looks like drawing shapes is easy enough I need to ensure exact measurements any tips on that?
You can try the Path Effect->Measure Segments for instance.
You can set shape dimensions in the tool control bar for the Select tool and the shape tools.
This rectangle is 55mm wide x 15mm high.
Thanks @Polygon that is what I want then i can make the other parts of the shape close enough
