So, first you use the bucket tool to make two fillings for the holes. Select both holes and hit Ctrl+K to make them one path. Draw a rectangle that is bigger than the whole picture and place it behind the path of the holes. Select the rectanlge and path and choose Menu > path > difference. Now you have a rectangle with 2 holes in it. Place this rectangle exactly over the picture. Select the picture and the rectangle and choose Menu > object > clip >set.
Hello.
Im working on a catalog for my company, where all our parts will be in.
I wan't to remove the background (Holes), so when i take it and paste it into my
presentation, it will have the background color of the sheet (Grey).
How do i do that? I have removed the background on the outside.
(The is a picture added so you can see what im working on)
Hi Brian,
How did you delete the background?
You can use clipping for hiding parts of a drawing. http://write.flossmanuals.net/inkscape/clip-and-mask/.
Hi Kristie
i can't get it to work.
I can get the holes removed by doing what you have written, but when i save it, it becomes a dot that i can't scale up
without it being blurry. After i followed your instruction, the size went down to 1 and 1
