Is there any plans to implement it? for me there's no hurry, but i've seen that a LOT of people is waiting for it to completely make the change to inkscape, and no, i'm not asking for the alternative ways with plugins or scribus :P thank you :)
But i've seen on different sites that it was something planned but it would require some time to do it, and those places were from some years ago, so i thought there would be something about it...but you are telling me it just won't be done? O_o
AIUI, it's mostly an upstream issue. Inkscape uses Cairo library and the Cairo team would need a dev that only worked on that.
The problem with Cairo is that it doesn’t yet support CMYK, or, to put in in a more technical language, it doesn’t yet support color management, color separation and spot colors. This is not because Cairo folks are not interested in that, but because they don’t have a dedicated developer to work on it, and it’s a lot of work.
Ok, but that's from 11 years ago!...maybe slow but Cairo should have done something or Inkscape looking for other options no? i know it is said simpler than done, but it's like Gimp working on non destructive ways at last after more than 10 years too...but at least it's already in the roadmap and working on that.
Is there anyway we could help (not a programmer) to make it happen? I'm already youtube videos in spanish to reach more people with inkscape but the comparisson with Ai it's a lot in that matter :S

There have been some efforts using uniconvertor and imagemajik, but they might be linux only, and it does not look like uniconvertor is still being developed.
