As a newcomer in Inkscape I encounter the problem of not being able to adjust Filling and conture as it should. My inkscape version is 2.1.2.
As a standard my text appears in red with red conture.
Klicking on a filling color does not make a difference, although the color in the small box on the left bottom changes accordingly. When drawing a color into the conture box, not only the conture changes but the filling in the same way. The opacity is 100. Changing its value doesn't make a difference.
Furthermore such a change is not taken over as standard after clicking on the standard setup button.
Hi just a guess your stroke is too large and blocking the fill. Click on text and shift click on X in color pallet to turn off stroke to test. Try decreasing the stroke width. Not much information given. Also think your version is wrong or typo.
Another guess click on text and go to Fill and Stroke / Fill Tab and see if A value is set to 100 and not 0. Quick check drag text off of white page and see if your view of fill changes from white to the background color.

Hello mendy,
The conture did really overlap the filling.
After decreasing its width the filling was shown but was not black as I had set it but white.
Best regards
Horst

A screenshot would be helpful or the file.
I go the solution. The Alphachennel had been set to 0% opacity.
Thanks for you assistance.
