Apart from me having trouble with Ctrl-A not behaving as expected, and not figuring out the rotation gizmos in Inkscape, are these quite huge performance differences expected?

I clicked the embed youtube button. I don't know why it's not showing.

Your screen recording shows scaling and rotation, but I don't know what you want here. Are you trying to draw something in particular? Is one of the drawing tools not working for you?

You don't see that Inkscape has about 1-2 FPS for the scaling and rotation, while Affinity is pretty close to 30 FPS?

No, I had no idea what you were demonstrating. Maybe I fast-forwarded through the video.

My main Inkscape machine is an ancient macbook from 2012, which fluidly rotates and scales everything. I notice some stuttering when I get to 5000 nodes or so and it's very pronounced at 15000+ nodes. Ocacasionally I run Inkscape on a 6-year-old windows laptop where the experience is similar but I can manipulate more nodes. More memory helped on the mac.

What's the source of your image? Is it complex? Lots of nodes? Is this an old or new computer? Windows, Linux or Mac?
