Having trouble within version 1.1 running on a windows 11 pro 64 bit PC. Do not have this trouble running 0.96 on a Mac pro OS.
When creating an object, then using "extensions/generate path/inset-outset halo" the object can be separated but cannot be deleted using the delete key on the keyboard. The delete key works fine in most other operations inside of Inkscape and never fails in other applications so this has to be something inside the configuration of inkscape. What would be causing this to work fine in some of the inscape operations but not in others? It also seems to be somewhat random as if you quick and reload inscape in will sometimes work correctly. Is there a process sequence issue to enabling the delete function for objects in some of the functions?
Tyler, finally traced this to a magic mouse driver for the PC that was causing interference with the standard mouse / keyboard drivers.
removed the drivers and the problem has resolved itself. Too bad as the MAC magic mouse has some nice finger motion features that would be good to use on a PC.

Please provide an example Inkscape SVG file that exhibits this behavior.
