Hi. Perhaps you did not know you can use groups with the Bend from Clipboard option for the Freehand Lines and Bezier Curves tools. Yes you easily can and create some neat stuff. See the graphic below. Have a joy filled day. Ken

If multiple objects are in the clipboard but not group the bend from clipboard just makes a duplicate of the objects in place. I wonder if this is a bug?

Hi. I am not sure regarding what you are stating or inquiring. The little tutorial that I shared should work fine.

Until you press Path > Object to Path, the Group should be still editable using the Bend from Clipboard setting. However, once it is converted into a Path, it is not. Then, it is a Group of paths. You can ungroup it and still have your "shape" in place - only now you will have separate, distinct paths you can play with.

Thanks for the trick it's surprising.

I wonder what is the difference between bend from clipboard and the bend path effect: it seems that they both add a bend effect to the path but only the way you've explained is working using a group.

I can't get it to work in the .91 version.  The Shape option there is "From clipboard" (no "Bend"), and the result comes out as a thick black line.
