I am running Inkscape 1.0 beta on an iMac 27" with Mojave OS 10.14.6 I5 CPU 16 GHz ram.
Where is Inkscape installed too (folder)? I was lucky when installing because I drag the Inkscape icon on to my dock. I went into my applications folder and could not find Inkscape. Where did it install to?
Inkscape 1.0 is really jerky when moving objects around or zooming, moving or rotating the page. Is that normal?
I have a couple of questions.

It's going to be where you put the dmg file.
Yes, unfortunately, that's normal in the beta. Try a current version, it's supposed to have improved.
Thank you, Maren. Yes, I finally figured it out. And I do have the Current Version also.
oops - a download goes into the download folder - opening the dmg should give a hint:
Simply drag into the displayed Application folder
Open the Application folder - find Inkscape and click on it and let macOS do its thing to check it due the first start.
If you want to keep it in the Dock - make a ctrl-click on its icon in Dock and tell->Options->leave in Dock (I believe it´s called in English)
