I am a new user, after many years of using Coral Draw, I have imported a PDF image, created with my Canon scanner/printer, the image looks fine on screen but when I try to print the preview is blank and nothing prints if let it print, the printer is Cannon MX475 and I am using Cannon image garden for scanning. If I draw a simple rectangle that will print, so it must be a problem with the image. Any ideas?

Tried again today to print this image, went right back a new document, when I import the PDF file it is landscape and when the landscape image is right across the portrait page on screen there is nothing in print preview, if I rotate the image 90 degrees so it is portrait and fits on the portrait page on screen the print preview is there of the image, if I rotate the image another 90 degrees which is how I need to print it as some elements will only fit on the page if the image is rotated the preview goes blank again. What should I try next?

In Inkscpae go File->Save Copy as…->PDF and use a PDF viewer to print. (As most users do which are not on Linux)

Thanks, however I need to edit the image, scale up, redraw, clip parts out which I cant do in a PDF viewer, I really need inkscape to work, why will it not print rotated images? Thanks

I mean after your edits  go File->Save Copy as…->PDF and use a PDF viewer to print.

I guess the PDF from the Canon MX475 is just a bitmap in a PDF container; check in Inkscape by opening Object->Layers and Objects.
