Hi everybody :
First---I drew a blue square. Then I IMPORTed a flower design on top of it (it had a red background). I tried
going through steps of removing the background (using the bevel tool) When I completely had the flower design
"surrounded" by the bevel too, The flower design was erased in the color or the blue square.. What am I doing
wrong ? I using version 1.2

I guess the easiest way is to open the image in Gimp - add an alpha channel in the Layers panel - then select the red color and delete. Export as PNG - import into Inkscape for you additional design tasks.
