    Hi all,

I would like to know how I can change the center of rotation for an object. In the internet it is often written that I should click twice on the object and then I can move the center. While for some objects this is possible for others I just can't find the rotation center. I have attached a screenshot. Why is there no center for this object and how can I create it? I'd be happy for every comment.

If you can't see the rotation centre then there's a chance that it's already well outside the bounds of the object, and possibly outside the visible area on screen. If that's the case you have two options:

    1. Search for the rotation centre by zooming out and hoping it leaps out at you. If you spot it, Shift-click on it to reposition it at the default position in the centre of the object.
    2. If you can't find it that way - or don't want to spend time hunting for it - open the XML editor (Edit > XML Editor). With your object selected you should see two attributes that define the position of the rotation centre: "inkscape:transform-center-x" and the same for "y". Delete them both to return the rotation centre to the default position.
