for some reason it didn't work and so my question:

is it possible to make a bank transfer?

I don't want to open an umpteenth account somewhere.

If you choose to donate via the Software Freedom Conservancy, make sure to specify the donation is for Inkscape (as they handle multiple open source projects).

Another alternative would be to support Inkscape's developers directly, though that usually requires a Patreon account.
