    Hello good folks,

Watched several tutorials on how to change line thickness but this appears to be afterthe line is drawn and finalised, i.e hitting enter. This works no problem but whilst drawing it reverts back to a very thin red line, it also seems to adopt the colour which you are tracing which makes it harder.

The options within fill and stroke ar egreyed out until line is complete.

    Thanks

The Pen tool always shows a thin, either green or red line, until you finish drawing it (by double-click or pressing Enter).  That can't be changed, as far as I know.

But drawing with the Pen tool is almost always imprecise.  Unless you rely on snapping, you almost always have to go back after drawing it, and with the Node tool, tweak it to be as precise as you like.

Yes, the options are grayed out until drawing is complete.  You can't change that thin green or red line that you see while drawing the path.

If you can show an example, with your specific issues, we might be able to give you some tips for better results.

Thanks for the reply, that's okay.

Inkscape is such a feature rich tool with many ways of appraoching tasks  just  a quick check I hadn't overlooked an option.

    Thanks again.
