    Hi.

I saw this video and I thought, if this is possible with Inkscape?
    https://youtu.be/o6-tTUwbD70?t=80

The man selects a pattern and the pattern is added when the mouse is moving. The pen pressure also changes the scale of the pattern.

    Thanks.

Hi, Inkingo. Yes, within Inkscape, you make an object, then convert it to a Path, then draw your intended path it is to be applied onto, and use Patten Along Path to have it applied to that specific path. Or, you could creat you object (conedt it to a path, copy it to the clipboard, and then press B or P to access thuse tools, and choose Copy from Clipboard and make your strokes. Whatever you have copied to the clipboard will be stetched along the stroke(s) you make.

For an example, see this post and the attached svg files.

    I got it.

Only one problem are the different sizes.

    Is this possible?

Pattern Along path, but with different sizes on some nodes?

Inkscape takes whatever "pattern" you have established and applies it along your desired path. You can make duplicates of your "starter" pattern, adjust them (resize, move nodes, change the type of nodes involved,  add nodes, remove nodes, rotate, skew, etc. ), then copy that changed pattern to your desired path. Notice also, in the Pattern Along Path Live Path Effect, there are other options ... such as Single, Single Stretched, Repeat, and Repeat Stretched. And in Patten Along Path, there is a button option to link to the Clipboard. So, if you choose that and alter your "starter" pattern, it will apply "live" to your desired path. Experiment, search Google videos for "Inkscape Pattern Along Path". You will find many videos. I use a good old fashioned mouse and not a pen and tablet.

Perhaps someone will come along and address that tool.

Also, you can indicate in the Pattern Along Path if your "pattern" is vertical or not. That changes your result as well. You can angle/rotate your starter pattern, which also changes your end result. There are literally an almost endless numer of ways you can use your "patterns" with Pattern Along Path. And, yes, you can make your own patterns that resembles those used in the video you shared.

You can make **different size ** patterns. You can use the Bezier tool or Pencil tool, after copying your pattern to the clipboard and then drawing your paths. You can use the Repeated or Repeated Stretched options.

Please take the time to review the notes I made in the attached text file and the svg file. With just about 60 plus minutes of exploration, you will see how to create all kinds of things.

After reviewing this material, see this, too.

All the best to you as you play and learn and create.
